The history station is divided into 2 parts: History taking(6mins) and Presentation (3mins)

1. History taking

   You can divide your history into the following 5 sections

   • Introduction
   • Present history including pain
   • Special history and differentials
   • Past, social, The one thing
   • Anything else, ICE

2. Presentation

   You can divide your history taking into the following 5 sections

   • Findings
   • Differentials
   • Examination
   • Investigations
   • Management

   General Tips

   • TIME IS A MAJOR FACTOR: practice timing
   • Outside the station:
     • When reading the stem, note the locaiton Outpatient clinic, A&E, District hospital, etc.
     • Use the time to recall the station
   • You will be given a pen & a paper when you enter the station use them
     • Example of how to use the
   • For the presentation, don’t wait for the examiner to ask as you only have 3 mins. say everything quickly.
   • In 1 min: Dx and remember everything
